Mountains: The Green Mountains run east-west in the south of the nation, so-named because they are a mass
of green in a country largely surfaced with black lava. Unlike the other mountains in the country, the Green
Mountains are partially sedimentary in origin, but also contain both ancient and more recent volcanic insult.
Numerous solitary mountains, exclusively volcanic, dot the countryside. These all pre-date the volcanic activity
that produced the current surface flows and are all located on what are known as "old land," meaning land that
existed before the more recent lava flows. The more recent flows emanated from massive surface-level vents, not
from mountain-forming volcanoes. All mountains in RoW are forested to some degree.
Waterways: Three rivers are entirely within the boundaries of the RoW: River Flow, River Fall, and River
Robin. The River Deep and River North enter RoW from the east. The Waterbury Tube is a natural, underground
lava tube carrying part of the north fork of the River Fall (discovered 1885).
Lakes: Only two notable lakes exist in the RoW, both of which are volcanic craters: Big Lake in the
northwest and Lake Kimberly in the southwest. Many minor lakes exist in the Green Mountains.
Forests: As previously stated, all mountains in RoW are partially forested. Additionally, two large
national forests exist in "old land" between solitary mountains; these are Sherwood Forest in the center of
the country and Black Forest in the north. Of course, The Green Mountains contain a vast forest and, like all
forests in RoW, is held in trust by the government for all people.
